UVB: Hi Sasha, i want to thank you for creating time to do this. How are you?

Sasha: I'm great thanks for asking.

UVB: Tell us about yourself? Where are you from originally? And what was it like growing up in your neighborhood?

Sasha: Well I am a writer and editor of two online magazines- the first is called In-spireLS it is a magazine dedicated to promoting positivity and the talents of others. The second is a men's lifestyle magazine called Inbox and it covers all of the elements a man magazine needs including articles on gadgets, career, sport, finances and gorgeous women!! I am also a model I have modeled since 2007 and I have achieved a great deal to date. Right now, things are moving faster now I am under management. I have been signed to PinknBlack events since December and since then I modeling has been coming back into the foreground. I have just completed a major photo shoot for my official website http://www.sashashanteluk.com launching in April. It will my modeling, writing work and a number of other special projects.

UVB: What inspired you into the modeling industry? What was your experience like on your first shoot?

Sasha: I got into modeling because it looked exciting and I knew it would help me get out of my shell! So far, so good. My first shoot was for a urban magazine that was around at the time in the UK called RTW Magazine. It was a great opportunity and from that very first shoot, things have progressed further. I have done a great deal since that first shoot in 2007. It was very scary at first and because there was so many women in the room. It was slightly intimidating. But, it was that shoot that started me off, so I am very thankful for that.

bikini models

UVB: How long have you been modeling? What was your first big break, and do you think that has accelerated your career as a model?

Sasha: I have been modeling since 2007, since that point I have modeled for a number of clothing brands, featured within online and print publications, won a beauty contest and much much more. Although, I am not very tall, I have also got modeling work for high fashion and I have ventured into commercial modeling too. The plan is to keep moving in that direction. Since being signed to management, I have also secured sponsorship from two major clothing brands - BabyPhat and Applebottoms, as well as hair sponsorship from SLEEK hair. The plan is to get into more magazines and to expand my brand as much as possible. The sky is definitely the limit.

UVB: People tend to think modeling is all too easy booking shoots, posing for the camera and getting published. But they never really know the preparations, networking and work been put into it. Can you share with us and other upcoming models the challenges you have come across and how do you stay positive minded without letting all the drama get to you?

Sasha: I am always about remaining positive. This is probably why I created an online magazine that people can read to get inspiration and to get the push they need when things are not going as planned. Modeling is not easy. On my own, before having management, I did very well on my own and this was down to remaining respectful to all I came into contact with, researching those I was working with, expanding my portfolio and being open to trying to ideas and concepts and learning when to say know. Sometimes people offer you work, but do not want to pay you. The important part is that your know your own worth. Not being tall has always been a challenge; however, I refuse to be overcome by barriers. If you cannot do something- I could never be a catwalk model. The important but is that you work on what you can do and work at being great at it. Self-belief is what helps you to see past the challenges and to see opportunity in all obstacles. No one said it would be easy, but the truth is, deep down, would you really want it to be? What is most vital is that if you want to do something, you need to wholeheartedly believe in it, and then naturally everyone else will too!

UVB: In addition to modeling you’re also a writer, career adviser, mentor, presenter, editor for mens lifestyle magazine inboxmagazine...can you tell us more about inbox magazine and your column what is all about?

Sasha: I am the Editor of Inbox Magazine- a magazine for men that covers all areas of male lifestyle. It is for the male who wants more out of life and wants to improve and enhance every area of their lives. I have been blessed to be apart of this project and it is nice to be recognized for my writing skills/talents too. My main job is to edit the content of the submissions made by my Inbox Writing team. I will also be writing an Editors page and when possible conducting face-to-face interviews with the best artists within the Urban industry. I have experience in Presenting, something I would like to do more of this year. I also work as a Careers adviser- this helps me get the money to achieve my dreams and luckily I'm pretty good at it too.

UVB: And you also C.E.O of your own positive lifestyle magazine In-spireLS. What inspired you into branding your own lifestyle magazine, and could you tell us more about it...the features, interviews and different columns?

Sasha: In-spireLS is different to other online magazines. 100% dedicated to highlighting the good people are doing. Too many magazines sell gossip and although if we be honest, negativity sells, there is a definite market for positivity. This is very big within the US but the UK are catching on. I thrive off celebrating the hard work of others and this magazine is a celebration of this. I started my own magazine because I desperately wanted a creative space where other writers could join with me in my vision. So far I have a team of 15 writers based within the UK and US who contribute on a monthly basis. The plan is to one day get the magazine in print. Until then we will be growing our fan base and readership. The magazine has sections including: Wonder woman, Supermen - these are interviews with female and male talent who are working hard within their chosen career field. 1 2 watch- a section dedicated to promoting up and coming talent, positivity articles, a poetry corner, book reviews, etc. The sections are endless and it's only going to get better.

UVB:Do you feel like you living a dual personality a 9-5 job and you modeling on the side. And how do you manage both from clashing with each other?

Sasha: Modeling happens evenings, weekends, and if I need to book leave or time off this is always done without an issue. I cannot say I am a MODEL because that would be my full time career. I say instead that I can model and when I do, I get and accept only paid work.I work on a number of projects at once and often suffer from a lack of sleep. The truth is, you need to be passionate about what you are doing. When you are not born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you need to make the opportunities happen. I work around it because I know that I will get the end result I have been working on for years.I don't have a dual personality, because these are all sides of me. I am a multi-faceted individual- no alter egos needed. :)

UVB: The biggest misconception about me is...?

Sasha: That I am stush. Or that I only date white men! The amount of times I have heard this!

eyecandy models

UVB: People would be surprised to know that...?

Sasha: Even after all the things I already do I still have more skills and talents! all will be revealed.

UVB: When you not in front of the cameras working the set, writing or on a job what do you do?

Sasha: I read magazines- I buy around 5 weekly. I am a blogger and I also contribute to other online sites. I love fashion and am a self-confessed spender when it comes to buying clothes and make up. I love eating out and networking events. That's me to a tee!

UVB: Whats the first thing women compliment you for when you strutting your booty down the streets? What part of your body gets more attention from guys?

Sasha: My bust and backside. I look very slim, but I am blessed with ample amounts of both!

britain got talents

UVB: Whats the craziest thing a fan has done to get your attention? And what would be the appropriate way to get your attention suppose someone was tryna get with you?

Sasha: I have great supporters and luckily I only get collages made of my images and shout outs on TWITTER- check back in on me if I get more famous! To get my attention, just carry yourself with respect and treat me like a lady- that's all I ask for.

UVB: What features do you find most attractive in men or women?

Sasha: In men, a good smile, a defined body, a great personality and brains. They NEED to have ambition too.

UVB: Is you single or taken? If taken how does your man handle the drama you get from modeling and if not how would you react supposing you was dating someone who couldn't deal with all that?

Sasha: It's complicated right now. But, the main answer to this is, I do what I want to do. Accept me or walk. We only live once, I want to live a colorful life with no regrets.

bikini babes

UVB: What are your guilty pleasures you cant live without?

Sasha: sweets. This goes to explain why I always have toothaches!

UVB: Some athletes do breathing exercises before the big game, some people take a 5 hour energy drink before the meeting. How do you get ready for a big shoot? Is there a special ritual you have?

Sasha: I play music that will make me happy and excited. All my favorite tracks get played on my ipod. Good music always get me revved up!

UVB: What projects have you been apart of? And what projects should your fans be on a look out for?

Sasha: There are a number of online features my management are working on. I am working on expanding the magazine and launching another venture with a family member. I will be expanding on my role as Editor of Inbox magazine. Launching my website, bringing to light another talent of mine that I recently discovered and resuming my studies to become an exercise teacher! In terms of what I did previously google me! you will be surprised!

Sasha Shantel

UVB: Speaking of projects, the buzz around is your website would be launching soon, can you feel us in on all the juicy bits to expect?

Sasha: It's my creative space, featuring press cuttings, behind the scenes footage, blogs, new photo sets, links to my writing and much much more. You won't get bored of this site in the slightest.

glamour models

Urban Vixenz Blogzine features JOANNA AKA ENERGY. Energy is the life of the party at any scene, always bubbly with energy to inspire people around her. She is also a great help to young offenders giving them another chance to still achieve their dreams and gain qualifications. Energy have also made video appearances with a few of UK Finest Lil Beats, Wiley, J2K, Ice Kid, Wrigley, Ghetts, Scorcher, Bashy, Chipmunk, Griminal, Wretch 32; Mashtown and be on the look for her on a music video coming soon by Krept Tally and Konan feat Funky Dee. We caught up with this Persian Beauty and took a minute to ask her some questions...

hiphop honeys

UVB: Tell us about yourself? Where are you from originally? And what was it like growing up in your neighbourhood?

ENERGY: My name is Energy, I am from Beckenham which is just outside of London. My family background is Egyptian, Persian and Cypriot which has given me an exotic look and natural honey colour skin. The neighbourhood I grew up in is very quiet, most of the people were either 50 plus or families with young children. I suppose this made me come out of my shell and become Energy full of colour as well as being very lively. I would spend most of my time hanging out in Brixton where my grandparents live, I love the area as its consistently awake, full of fun and action.

UVB: What inspired you into modeling? How did you get started in the urban modeling industry?

ENERGY: I actually started off as an Actress due to studying Performing Arts and doing small theatre productions and television work here and there as acting is main ambition. One day I received a message on my Myspace around two and half years ago from a lovely artist/producer/director called Nikki Nitro she explained that she was shooting several videos for several artist and her own one and if I'd like to be featured in the video. I just thought why not as I love being in front of the camera. She then spoke to me about setting up a portfolio to get myself out there and let people know about me. From then on I suppose I've just fallen within the urban industry due to my look and curves. I would like to go into other fields such as Ink magazine's and the Punk/Rock field as I feel my look is very diverse.

UVB: How long have you been modeling? What has been your biggest eye opener so far since you came into the industry?

ENERGY: I have been modeling for two years now, I would say to be wary of people as there are alot of people in the industry that either like to put you down, lie or stab you in the back. To keep your head up and stay focused. Realising that commercial artist in the UK still don't like to use curvy girls or girls of colour, they are still using girls that are dress size between 0-small 12 that all look the same. Which I feel is no good they need to show the world that the UK has all different types of girls of all sizes and colours as we are all unique. That is why I love my hood artist out here they are always real and love girls like myself.

sexy import models

UVB: What was your first big break? What was the experience like?

ENERGY: I would say from being featured on The Streetz Incarcerated Vol 4 DVD people starting to recognise me even more. The DVD is basically a Hip Hop DVD goes behind the scenes of video sets, along with interviews with artists, and has videos on there too. The DVD had such artist on there such as 50 cent, Giggs, Wiley and many more. To be featured on this DVD in a music video people where I was the only female was an achievement for me as people started to notice me even more and know that I am serious in what I do. I started to get more video work from this which was good, but I also turned down alot of video work as I don't want to be known as a video girl.

UVB: Whats one thing you can't go through the day without?

ENERGY: My Blackberry, I'm always on there pinging away or tweeting. I actually feel lost without it, I know its sad. LOL

UVB: Lots of people thinks being a model is all glits and glams, and never know the work that is been put into it. Can you tell us some of your major challenges that you have come across?

ENERGY: I wouldn't say Ive come across any major challenges yet, I would like to though. The only downfall is doing photo shoots/video shoots in the freezing cold in little clothing, being there from anything for 2 hours up to 10, obviously with a break here and there but you end up not being able to feel your body after a while which is a horrible feeling. I did a shoot with a tarantula which I loved and luckily they do not scare me.

lowrider models

UVB: When you not in front of the cameras, lights and actions...what do you do?

ENERGY: I work with young offenders/excluded 15-16 year old in a pupil referral unit, which is a specialist school giving them another chance to still achieve and gain qualifications. I do Media with them, I love working and talking with them, seeing their out-take to society and helping the young people in succeeding in their education so they can further this within college. I also love spending time with my family, I'm a very homely person.

UVB: Whats the first impression/thing men or women compliment you for when you strutting your beautiful behind down the streets? What part of your body do men compliment the most?

ENERGY: I always get compliment on my eyes, I'm told they are dreamy. And my shape I'm always told that my body looks strong.

UVB: Suppose I was trying to get your attention, what part of your body should I compliment more?

ENERGY: Hhhmmm, that's a good question, I would say my bum as I actually want more and hate what I have. Would love my bum to be like Buffie the body.

custom tradeshow models

UVB: Whats the most special thing that a guy has done to try to win you over?

ENERGY: One sweet guy from OC offered to fly me over and pay for all my expenses just so he could meet me, I didn't go through with it as I'm very wary of people. But that's the sweetest thing anyone has offered to do for me. Other then that I attract stingy men :(

UVB: Truth or dare, where's the most craziest place you have hooked up with a guy?

ENERGY: At the moment I can't even think of meeting anyone in a crazy place, I'm actually very shy and boring :( Don't let my looks fool you.

UVB: What features do you find attractive in a guy? What turns you on and off?

ENERGY: I find guys over 6ft tall who are dark skinned, slim and have hair a major turn on, oh and they have to have good teeth. That are doing something with themselves and have alot of respect for women. Turn off's are poor personal hygiene, and sit at home all day doing nothing.

lingerie models

UVB: What are your guilty pleasures you can't live without?

ENERGY: I can't live without chocolate, any is fine I have to have it several times a day

UVB: Are you single or taken? If taken how does your man handle the attention you get from modeling? And if not how would you react supposing you were with someone who couldn't deal with all that?

ENERGY: I am currently single, I've been single for nearly 5 months. If my partner couldn't deal with the fact that I do modeling, I would invite him to a shoot I was doing so he could see what is involved and show him that its part of my job. To sit and talk and hear his views. If he was still unhappy that I do it and he met me knowing that I do this, then I would have to end it as I am not changing he has to accept what I do.

UVB: You got some amazing measurements and curves in all the right places. Do you hit the gym? What do you do in the gym to sculpt your figure?

ENERGY: Thank you, I only go to the gym twice a week and mainly do the leg press machine and squats. To tone my upper body and stomach, I do pole dancing as a fitness not as a living. Its a great exercise to do, ladies should really give it a go.

rap models

UVB: Some athletes do breathing exercises before the big game, some people take a 5 hour energy drink before the meeting, how do you get ready for a big shoot? Is there a special ritual you have?

ENERGY: I make sure I don't eat any carbs, as this can bloat you and I hate looking bloated for a shoot, I always make sure I have alot of chocolate with me as the sugar gives me a buzz.

UVB: Word on the street is you gonna be presenting a new show on Sky Tv which would be aired in 2011. Can will get a few peeks of what the show is going to be about?

ENERGY: Finger's crossed hun.
Started filming for the show the last few months of 2010, its still under wraps and being edited, at the moment I can't really give anything away.

UVB: Wow you've been hitting big on the screens with video appearances on music videos such as Take a picture by Ashley Ft lil Beats, She like to by Wiley Ft J2k, Ice Kid, Wrigley, Ghetts, Scorcher, Bashy, Chipmunk, Griminal, Wretch 32; Between us by Mashtown Ft Wiley just to mention a few. Which of them did you find most entertaining? What was the experience like on and off set?

ENERGY: The "She likes to medley" was a great experience as so many well known UK artist were on the track, meeting them and mingling with the girls was also great. Everyone was so friendly which sometimes is rare at a shoot as you usually get one or two bitches. On set of this shoot it was very professional and the director knew what he wanted, this is always handy as time didn't drag on as much.
The most entertaining one was "The Between Us" shoot, as alot of negative things happened which ended with the shoot ending early, due to stupidness occurring, girls as young as 16 was there which I find disgusting as they shouldn't be doing this kind of work so young especially when they look 14.

sexy video vixens

UVB: What other projects have you been a part of?

ENERGY: Was featured in Zen Magazine which is an African Magazine as one of the top 10 hottest models from Africa. This was such a great achievement for me as I want to be world wide and known. The most recent video shoot I done was for Krept Tally and Konan feat Funky Dee which should be out soon, was one of the best videos shoots I have done very professional, fun and the girls were all lovely.

UVB: Would you be open to do shoots for Playboy or Penthouse pets?

ENERGY: I would love to have a spread in Playboy as I've loved that magazine and Hugh Heffner from a teenager and would also love the opportunity to be in King and Ink Magazine.

UVB: What should your fans be expecting in 2011?

ENERGY: Alot more raunchier shoots, hopefully more editorial work and defiantly more television work

UVB: Where can you be found online

Hi folks its another beautiful day and its a pleasure to introduce you to one of UKs finest in the entertainment industry Katie Ryan. Katie is the C.E.O of Pink N Black Entertainment, one of the best entertainment firms in the UK. Katie is also a PR consultant, event co-ordinator and she is also into model and talent management. Urban vixenz blogzine caught up with her and requested for a little interview, here is what she had to say...

UVB: First of all i would love to thank you for creating time to do this. How are you?

Katie: I am feeling great at the moment ;-D very busy just how i like to be.

UVB: Tell us about yourself? Where are you from originally? And what was it like growing up in your neighborhood?

Katie: I am originally from a small town called letchworth Garden city in the UK but i live in london now and have been for 6 years, growing up in my area everyone knew each other but it didnt stop us getting up to no good extremely boring area so we had to amuse ourselves which we did ;-)

UVB: What inspired you into taking up event, model/talent management and public relations?

Katie: Another event company called Team Alliance Ent i was attending their events around London and knew it so i spent a year doing events, promotions and expanding my network and knowledge of the UK industry the more i learnt the more i saw how much talent was hidden in the urban industry. Eventually Pink N Black progressed, so PR and management so i could support and showcase these talents to everyone i spent 2010 working on the PR/Management side of things and now work with a large selection of people from different sides of the industry. Everyday my clients and the talents around me inspire me to do better and keep striving for more.

UVB: How long have you been doing this?

Katie: I started Pink N Black Entertainment in January 2009 so two years and the PR side of things for a year.

UVB: When your not organizing events or scheduling appointments...what do you do?

Katie: I tweet loool i do a range of different things on a daily basis, design work for my clients, press packs, promotions, website updates, client development, photo-shoot, press release, research, meetings and if you could see my email inbox i send and receive 100s of emails daily its a never ending list i work 24/7 unless i am sleeping i am working on something for Pink N Black and my clients. I also have to tweet from a lot of different pages on behalf of my clients because of the range of clientele i have to network and contact people from all over the industry and keep on top of a variety of different things it can be hard at times but also its great fun.

UVB: Are you single or taken?

Katie: I am single :-)

UVB: What are your guilty pleasures you cant live without?

Katie: To be honest i couldnt live without Redbull or my blackberry its glued to me always.

uk celebs

UVB: Truth or dare? What are your wildest fantasies?

Katie: LOOOL I want a dare ;-) erm it involves 50cent loool.

UVB: People could easily mistake event promotions and talent management as a two way street, where all you do is just make contacts and schedule appointments. And never really know the work put into it. Can you tell us some of the challenges you have come across?

Katie: I wished it was that easy! I come across new challenges everyday my biggest challenge is time and having enough of it but also i am selling or showcasing a product or brand its hard to get people to believe in that the same way i do and when you get a lot of no's or no answer at all it can really get you down so i have to keep the moral levels high for myself and clients. Amongst that you always have people that have something negative to say about what your doing so i have to face that head on. I am irish so my temperament is very low and sometimes i have to hold it in so i dont look unprofessional. I am very organized though which is key to overcome some challenges. I email myself a to do list daily and i work to get it done which helps.

UVB: When was Pink N Black entertainment born? What is Pink N Black all about?
